About the clinic

Megazee.com is physiotherapy built on assessment, not assumption

Most people arrive at Megazee.com having already been told to rest it, stretch it, or wait and see. What they have rarely had is a proper examination.

Every course of physiotherapy at Megazee.com starts with a full 45-minute assessment, because the site of your pain and the cause of your pain are frequently not the same thing. A stiff hip shows up as back pain. A weak calf shows up as a sore knee. Treating the symptom alone is why problems keep returning, and it is the single most common reason patients tell us previous treatment did not hold.

Every physiotherapist here is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and chartered through the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. We practise to NICE guidance, we tell you at the end of session one roughly how many appointments you are likely to need, and if physiotherapy is not the right answer for your problem we will say so and help you find who is.

  • One-to-one care with the same physiotherapist throughout
  • Objective baselines re-tested at every review
  • Direct onward referral where imaging or a consultant is needed

What we treat with

Physiotherapy services at Megazee.com

Megazee.com runs six core treatment pathways, chosen at assessment and usually combined. Hands-on work settles symptoms; prescribed exercise is what makes the change hold.

All services & fees
  • Physiotherapist using hands-on manual therapy on a patient’s neck and shoulder

Hands-on treatment for stiff, painful joints

Joint mobilisation, soft tissue release and targeted stretching to restore movement where a joint has become stiff or guarded. Manual therapy eases symptoms quickly, which buys the window you need to rebuild strength properly.

  • Runner performing a controlled strength exercise during sports injury rehabilitation

Return to sport on evidence, not guesswork

Structured loading programmes for sprains, strains, tendon problems and overuse injuries. We test strength, control and capacity against the real demands of your sport before clearing you for full training.

  • Clinician reviewing a post-operative rehabilitation plan with an older patient

    Protocol-led recovery after your operation

Rehabilitation after joint replacement, ligament reconstruction, spinal surgery and fracture fixation. We work to your surgeon’s protocol and progress load only when the tissue and your milestones allow it.

  • Physiotherapist treating a patient’s neck during a back and neck pain session

The most common reason people come to us

Assessment-led care for lower back pain, neck pain, disc-related symptoms and postural strain. Most spinal pain settles without scans or injections when movement is restored early and progressed sensibly.

  • Therapist performing deep soft tissue release on a patient’s upper back

Targeted release for stubborn muscular pain

Deep soft tissue work and acupuncture-style dry needling for persistent trigger points and muscular tension. Used alongside exercise, never instead of it — the needle opens the door, the programme keeps it open.

  • Clinical Pilates rehabilitation class working on mats under physiotherapist supervision

    One-to-one and small-group rehabilitation

Physiotherapist-led exercise built around your diagnosis rather than a generic class plan. Suited to persistent back pain, hypermobility, osteoporosis and rebuilding confidence after a long lay-off.

Who we help

Some symptoms need a doctor, not a physiotherapist. Seek urgent medical advice if you have numbness around the saddle area, loss of bladder or bowel control, progressive weakness in both legs, or back pain alongside fever and unexplained weight loss. The NHS back pain guidance sets out when to get same-day help.

Why patients choose us

What makes physiotherapy here different

Nothing exotic — just the unglamorous things that decide whether a course of physiotherapy actually works: enough time, the right clinician, real measurement and an honest endpoint.

  • 45-minute appointments

Every first appointment is a full 45 minutes, one-to-one with your physiotherapist. No overlapping bookings and no being handed to an assistant halfway through.

  • HCPC-registered clinicians

Every physiotherapist at Megazee is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

  • Measured, not guessed

We record objective baselines at your first visit — range, strength, function — and re-test them. You see progress in numbers, not just in how it feels today.

  • Honest about session counts

You get an estimated course of care at the end of session one. If physiotherapy is not the right answer for your problem, we will say so and point you to who is.

Our care pathway

How physiotherapy works at Megazee.com

Every patient at Megazee.com moves through the same five stages, from a first episode of back pain to a twelve-month return-to-sport programme. Only the length of each stage changes.

Start with an assessment
  1. 01

    Assessment

A full 45-minute first appointment. We take your history, screen for anything that needs a GP or consultant, and test movement, strength and control.

  2. 02

    Diagnosis

A plain-English explanation of what is driving your symptoms, the likely timeline, and the specific things that would make that timeline shorter or longer.

  3. 03

    Hands-on Treatment

Manual therapy, soft tissue work or dry needling to reduce pain and restore range — creating the window in which meaningful loading becomes possible.

  4. 04

    Exercise Prescription

A programme built for your diagnosis, your equipment and the time you actually have. Sent to your phone with video, sets, reps and a clear progression rule.

  5. 05

    Review & Discharge

We re-test the measures we started with. Hit your targets and we discharge you with a maintenance plan — not an open-ended block of appointments.

In their words

What patients say about Megazee.com

Outcomes vary from person to person. These accounts describe individual experiences and are not a promise of the same result.

  • I had put up with back pain for two years and assumed I needed a scan. The assessment explained exactly what was happening, and the programme was four exercises I could fit around work. I am back to lifting properly.

Patient who completed a course of physiotherapy for lower back painAmara O.Lower back pain · 9 sessions
  • Six weeks after my knee reconstruction I still could not straighten the leg and I was worried. They re-tested everything each visit and showed me the numbers moving. That did more for my confidence than anything else.

Patient who completed post-surgical knee rehabilitationTom R.ACL reconstruction rehab · 6 months
  • What I appreciated most was being told honestly that I needed three appointments, not a block of ten. The shoulder settled, I got a maintenance plan, and I have not needed to go back since.

Megazee.com physiotherapy questions, answered

The questions physiotherapists at Megazee.com are asked most often. If yours is not here, call the clinic and ask a clinician directly.

Ask a physiotherapist
  • What is physiotherapy, and what does a physiotherapist actually do?

Physiotherapy is the assessment and treatment of problems affecting muscles, joints, nerves and movement. A physiotherapist examines how your body moves, works out what is driving your symptoms, then treats it with a combination of hands-on therapy, prescribed exercise and practical advice on load and activity. The aim is restored function, not pain relief that lasts an afternoon.

  • Do I need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist?

No. Physiotherapy is a self-referral profession in the UK, so you can book a private appointment with us directly. If you plan to claim through private medical insurance, check your policy first: some insurers still require a GP referral or an authorisation code before your first session.

  • How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?

Most straightforward musculoskeletal problems settle within four to six appointments. Post-surgical and complex cases run longer and follow your surgeon’s protocol. You will get an honest estimate at the end of your first assessment, and we will tell you plainly if physiotherapy is unlikely to be the right answer for your problem.

  • What happens at a first physiotherapy appointment?

Your first appointment lasts 45 minutes. We take a detailed history, screen for anything needing medical review, then examine your movement, strength and joint range. You will usually receive hands-on treatment on the day and leave with a short starting programme and a clear explanation of your diagnosis.

  • What should I wear to a physiotherapy appointment?

Wear something you can move in that allows access to the area being treated — shorts for a knee, hip or back problem, a vest or loose t-shirt for a shoulder or neck problem. Changing space is available if you are coming straight from work.

  • Does physiotherapy hurt?

Assessment and treatment should be comfortable. Some hands-on techniques and early loading exercises feel tender, and mild soreness for a day afterwards is normal. Nothing is done without your consent and you can stop any technique at any point. Sharp or worsening pain is always a reason to speak up.

  • Can physiotherapy help lower back pain without a scan?

In most cases, yes. Imaging rarely changes the treatment plan for ordinary back pain, and frequently shows age-related findings that are just as common in people with no symptoms at all. We screen for the small number of features that genuinely warrant imaging and refer on promptly when we find them.

  • Is physiotherapy covered by private medical insurance?

Most major UK insurers cover physiotherapy. Contact your insurer before booking to confirm your excess, your session limit and whether pre-authorisation is needed. We can provide the invoices and clinical summaries insurers typically ask for.

  • How soon after an injury should I see a physiotherapist?

Early is better. Being assessed within the first week or two lets us protect the injury appropriately, start safe movement sooner, and avoid the stiffness and deconditioning that make later rehabilitation slower. You do not need to wait to see whether it settles on its own.

  • When should I seek urgent medical help instead of booking physiotherapy?

Seek urgent medical attention rather than booking with us if you have numbness around the saddle area, loss of bladder or bowel control, progressive weakness in both legs, an obvious deformity after trauma, or back pain alongside fever and unexplained weight loss. These need same-day assessment.
